District Institute of Education & Training (DIET) is an agency of the Government of West Bengal, operating at the district level, to help planning, implementing and monitoring pedagogical activities through training and orientation of different stakeholders of the elementary education. DIETs were established by the Department of Education, Government of West Bengal under the academic control of the State Council of Educational Research (SCERT), Kolkata to provide academic support and conduct action research on the district specific educational issues in order to achieve objectives of elementary and adult education.
